EMPART2017 Braces Bhubaneshwar

The Emergency Medical Pediatrics and Recent Trends (EMPART2017) was conducted from 3rd June 2017 to 7th June 2017 at Department of Pediatrics, Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS), Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India.

A Total 47 Experts attended the review course onEmergency Paediatrics by ACEE-INDIA.

Prof. Binita Shah, Distinguished Teaching Professor, Department of Emergency Medicine, SUNY DOWNSTATE, NewYork, USA was the course Director.

Prof. Abhijeet Saha (LHMC, New Delhi), Prof. Prerna Batra (UCMS, New Delhi), Dr.Shobhit Jain (Children’s Mercy Hospital, Kansas City, USA), Dr Nitin Trivedi (MGMC, Jaipur) and Dr. Nitin Chawla (Consultant, Paediatric Emergency & Acute Care, Kamineni Hospital, Hyderabad) were other faculty members.

Dr.Sibbabrata Patnaik (Assistant Professor, Department of Paediatrics, KIMS, Bhubaneswar) Organized and Hosted EMPART2017.

Over 40 Hours of Education with 9 Skill Schools Namely Shock & IO, Arrhythmia, Difficult Airway, NRP, Neonatal Simulation, Paediatric Trauma Simulation, Suturing, Splinting and Central Lines were conductedusing Simulation Technology.

The Pediatric Emergency Ultrasound Training Program was conducted by the Instructors from the INDUSEM International Council for Critical Emergency Sonography.

Pediatric Emergency Trauma Sonography course was conducted on 4th June and total 55 delegates attended the workshop. Six dedicated ultrasound machines were installed for the hands on sessions for this workshop. Faculty for this Skill School Were Prof. Madhu (JSSMC, Mysore), Dr. Tej Prakash Sinha (JPN Trauma Centre AIIMS), Dr.Vimal Krishnan (Jubilee Mission Medical College, Thrissur) and Dr.Siju Abraham (Jubilee Mission Medical College, Thrissur), Dr.Atul Jindal (AIIMS, Raipur), Dr. Nitin Borkar (AIIMS, Raipur).

All the faculty members met the founder of the KIIT-University Prof. Achyuta Samanta and offered all the support for helping develop Pediatric Emergency Medicine in KIMS.

Prof. Binita Shah handed over the 2nd edition of the Atlas of Paediatric Emergency Medicine to Prof. Achyuta Samanta for the KIMS Library.
