EXAMTHALON is an EM board exam simulation conducted every year at Jubilee Mission Medical College and Research Institute (JMMC & RI), Thrissur.

The inception of EXAMTHALON by EMA-ACEE Academic leaders, which aimed at providing exam going residents a mock theory and practical of the board exams was a revolutionary move for Academic EM in India. In addition to the decade old National Board Review Course NEMBRIC which is a one of a kind review course in medical specialties in India, EXAMTHALON equipped the resident to tackle examinations optimally. The rave reviews from residents and later their mentors from respective programs reinforced the need for such a model for Emergency Medicine in India.

The candidates were tested on their knowledge, skill and behaviors necessary for a consultant in emergency medicine. This year for the first time, the exams incorporated DNB examination domains in addition to the standard practices. Twenty-one candidates from all over India attended this two day program at JMMC & RI on January 30th and 31st, 2019.

Theory and Practical Examinations were held over two days with case presentations and structured feedback.
