INDUSEM Leader Vice Chancellor Dr. OP Kalra wins Dr. BC Roy Award for 2016

Honorable Vice Chancellor of Pandit BD Sharma University of Health Sciences, Rohtak, Haryana Professor Dr. OP Kalra was awarded the Prestigious 2016 Dr. BC Roy Award. It is a matter of great pride for INDUSEM that Dr. Kalra is being given the Prestigious Dr. BC Roy Award. A Nephrologist with fantastic Leadership Skills Dr. Kalra took charge of PBDSUHS 2015. He spearheaded the INDUSEM Congress in 2011 and 2015. The INDUSEM Congresses of 2011 and 2015 were one of the most successful INDUSEM Meetings held. He continues to be an active proponent of Emergency Care. In 2015 as soon as he assumed charge as Vice-Chancellor he started the process of Commissioning the first Trauma Center in Haryana and also starting a Post Graduate Training Program and a Department of Emergency Medicine.

Dr. Kalra, a well-known Nephrologist, has taken several initiatives to improve healthcare facilities in the PGIMS Rohtak which include establishment of new operation Theater Complex and ICU block having 16 Modular/High End Operation  Theatres, state of the art trauma centre, Mother and Child Block and implementation of Digital University and Hospital Information System and State of the Art CT Scan and MRI Scan facility under the Public Private Partnership mode. He is the recipient of state award conferred upon by Govt. of NCT of Delhi for outstanding achievements in the field of Medicine and Nephrology, Distinguished Academician and Researcher of the Year award by the Indo-US Academic Council for Emergency and Trauma and International Society for Peritoneal Dialysis award by International Society for Peritoneal Dialysis, USA.” “Dr. Kalra in his tenure as VC of PBDSUHS has led many game changing initiatives which have catapulted his University to being a contender for the list of Top Medical Institutions in South Asia.
