Written by INDUS MED NEWS    5 August, 2016    9:06 am .

It was history made today when Ms. Nita Ambani was elected to the International Olympic Committee. She is the First Indian women to be elected to this high office. She joins the ranks of Indians Sir Dorabji Tata and, Raja Randhir Singh who were past members of the IOC.

We all are aware that Ms. Ambani is the founder and chairperson of the Reliance Foundation. She was elected at the 129th IOC Session that took place in Rio de Janeiro today.

Ms. Ambani has transformed the phenomena of philanthropy to coin a new mantra of Venture Philanthropy. She has transformed healthcare, education, and culture amongst the vast portfolio of activities spearheaded by her Reliance Foundation.

She has established a firm footing in Cricket, Soccer and now talent building in school children. With her as the International Face of Sports, the Billions of Indians will now find a huge platform of opportunities when it comes versatility in choice and growth in various sports.

In the words of Dr. Sagar Galwankar’s CEO of INDUSEM:

“Ms. Ambani’s experience in carving the niche for cricket in the world of sports can be of immense value as IOC looks to adopt cricket as a competitive sport in Olympics.Ms. Ambani’s leadership in being a part of RIL where media is a major component can also help Olympic Sports to find a 24/7 Media Outlet. Her work in healthcare is well known. She established the World Renowned state of the art Sir. HN Hospital via the Reliance Foundation in Mumbai. There are multiple initiatives she leads when it comes to transformational initiatives across India and these will only help the IOC grow its influence in presence not only in India but across the world. I foresee the next decades of growth for Indian Sports as we see Ms. Ambani at the helm of affairs at the IOC.

A family women, a wife, a mother, a daughter-in-law, a daughter, a sister, a businesswomen, an educationist, a philanthropist and now an International Sports Leader is nothing short of an inspiration for women in India.

Being empowered and demonstrate the outcome of being empowered brings laurels not only to the person but also to the family who participated in this process of empowerment. The family values demonstrate respect for partners, passion of a joint effort and a sense of shared achievement which I interpret as the core foundation of Strong Family Values…which automatically translate to stability and success….a virtue that every family should embody.

It is not what you have but what you leave behind…….this is what I realize is her mission!

Mrs. Ambani wishes the best for India and the India wishes the best for her !
