INDUSEM Patron, Cardiologist, Philanthropist and pioneer of Social Engineering Models Dr. Kiran C Patel was awarded the Pravasi Bhartiya Divas Samman (Award) at the PBD Celebration in Varanasi India. The distinguished award was bestowed by Honorable President of India Shri. RamnathKovindin presence of Government of India’s External Affairs Minister Smt. Swaraj, Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Shri. Yogi Adityanath and Honorable Governor of Uttar Pradesh Shri. Ram Naik.
Dr. Kiran C Patel is the First Person of Indian Heritage to launch a Medical School in The United States.Dr.Kiran Patel and Dr. Pallavi Patel will have two school names after them after they together pledged over 200 Million USD of their personal wealth to create the School of Medicine and School of Health Sciences.Their Donation will help expand the Nova Southeastern University Campus to Clearwater, Florida where the schools will be located.
“Dr. Patel has personally lead the creation of India’s Unique Private Public Sector Social Engineering Transformation in the Village of Motafafalia in Gujarat. Many of the INDUSEM Leaders including faculty from AIIMS find guidance in the values propagated by Dr. Patel. Dr. Patel is the Patron of the INDUSEM Mission. He has always supported undertakings which make an impact on patient care across the world. These include the support given to The American College of Academic International Medicine. This award is a recognition of his vision and work. This will serve as an Everlasting testament to his legacy. In India, the Foundation has been operating a 1,200 student school – “C.A. Patel Learning Institute” at Patel’s father’s village of MotaFofalia. The school provides higher education opportunities to children from rural areas of Gujarat. The foundation has built and is operating a huge charity hospital in MotaFofalia since 1998 and has recently added a state-of-the-art pediatric hospital. The foundation have also rebuilt four hospitals post-earthquake in Gujarat in 2001. They are lead patrons of the INDUSEM Mission.
PravasiBharatiya Divas (PBD) is celebrated once in every two years to strengthen the engagement of the overseas Indian community with the Government of India and reconnect them with their roots. During the Convention, selected overseas Indians are also honored with the prestigious Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Award to recognize their contributions to various fields both in India and abroad.The 15th PBD Convention is being held on 21-23 January 2019 in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. The theme of PBD Convention 2019 is “Role of Indian Diaspora in building New India”. Special arrangements are also being made for participation in Kumbh Mela and Republic day parade.
