INDUSEM Patron KGMU Vice Chancellor Dr. Ravi Kant awarded the Padma Shri 2016 Honorable Vice Chancellor of King George Medical University Lucknow Professor Dr. Ravi Kant was awarded the 2016 Padma Shri Award. It is a matter of great pride for INDUSEM. Dr. Kant has won this award which is well deserving. He was the patron for the 2014 INDUSEM Emergency Medicine Summit at KGMU Lucknow.

A Surgeon with fantastic Leadership Skills Dr. Kant took charge of KGMU in 2014. He spearheaded the INDUSEM Congress with Dr. Ajai Singh as his Organizing Secretary. The 2014 INDUSEM was one of the most successful INDUSEM Meetings held. He continues to be an active proponent of Emergency Care. In Jan 2015 he assumed charge of a Free Standing Trauma Center in Lucknow which is a unique accomplishment with the extended Trauma Center serving the citizens in partnership with the KG University Trauma Center.

On 16th September 2002 an Act was passed by the Government of Uttar Pradesh resulting in a major milestone in change in the history of the institution in converting and upgrading it as Chhatrapati Shahuji Maharaj Medical University. About the Padma Shri Award

Padma Shri (also Padmashree) is the fourth highest civilian award in the Republic of India, after the Bharat Ratna, the Padma Vibhushan and the Padma Bhushan. Awarded by the Government of India, it is announced every year on India’s Republic Day. Padma Awards were instituted in 1954 to be awarded to citizens of India in recognition of their distinguished contribution in various spheres of activity including the Arts, Education, Industry, Literature, Science, Sports, Medicine, Social Service and Public Affairs.
