The 9th Emergency Medical Pediatrics and Recent Trends (EMPART) Review Course and 5th EPICON (Emergency Pediatric Injuries Congress) was successfully organized at University College of Medical Sciences and Guru Tegh Bahadur Hospital, Delhi from 1st to 5th February 2023.

INDUSEM, Academic College of Emergency Experts in India and The Emergency Medicine Association in association in INCUS promoted this event.

Organizing team constituted of chairperson Dr Piyush Gupta, Principal, UCMS, Organizing secretary Dr Prerna Batra and joint organizing secretary Dr Vikram Bhaskar.

The Five days mega event started off with 3 days for EMPART. Several interactive sessions cobbering plethora of pediatric emergencies, and simulation workshops including airway, cardiac, suturing, and mega codes, were conducted by eminent international and national faculty, which included Dr Binita Shah, Dr Prashant Mahajan, Dr Manu Madhok, Dr Ami P Shah and Dr Ameer Hassoun from the United States.

National faculty included Dr Abhijeet Saha, Dr Anil Goel, Dr Bharat Chaudhary, Dr Neha Rai, Dr Lalitha AV, Dr Bhupeshwari Patel, and Dr Nisha Toteja to name a few.

EPICON sessions focused on pediatric point of care ultrasound by stalwarts Dr. Sanjeev Bhoi, and Dr Tej Prakash Sinha. Interesting topics like Triage, ABG interpretation, simulation in ER, initiation of peritoneal dialysis in ER were also discussed. Panel discussion on Antimicrobial stewardship in ER was conducted by Dr. Dheeraj Shah.

Multiple research papers, case based discussion, and poster presentations were judged by editor-in-chief of Indian Pediatrics Dr Devendra Mishra.
