The 44th Annual Convention of the American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (AAPI) was held in Tampa under the Chairmanship of INDUSEM CEO Dr. Sagar Galwankar.
Over 1,200 delegates attended this mammoth convention which celebrated 250 years of American Independence.
One of the convention’s defining moments was the bestowal of the AAPI Humanitarian Award for 2026 to Smt. Nita Ambani Ji, founder and chairperson of the Reliance Foundation.
In her acceptance remarks, Smt. Ambani Ji praised the Indian-origin physicians in the USA and their leadership in medical care and public service in America.
“The relationship between India and the United States has always been strengthened by people — by professionals, innovators, physicians like those in AAPI,” Smt. Ambani Ji said.
The Mayor of Tampa enthralled all the delegates when she gave the Key to the City of Tampa to Smt. Nita Ambani opening the doors to the hearts of the people of Tampa. This is a very distinguished civic honor bestowed for the first time on a humanitarian from India.
Convention Chairman Dr. Sagar Galwankar applauded the efforts taken by Smt. Nita Ambani Ji to transform India and raise the stature of BHARAT across the world as he declared that Smt. Nita Ambani ji was the rightful recipient of the recognition as a Global Humanitarian.
Distinguished guests included AMA President Dr. Bobby Mukkamala, Didi Krishna of Sadhu Vaswani Mission, Siddhguru Ji, Shri. Vivek Oberoi, Ms. Sania Mirza and many others.
