The COVID-19 pandemic Re-enforced the need for countries to take action and strengthen their healthcare systems.

The government of India planned and implemented numerous measures for early detection, prevention, containment, protocols for testing and management of the pandemic; strengthening of the health system with respect to human resources, infrastructure, logistics, governance, financing and information systems to control the pandemic and other cross-cutting areas.

Building international and national partnerships, community mobilization and empowerment, effective communication strategies, along with diverting significant resources for infrastructure, research and development were undertaken by the Government of India.

INDUSEM leaders played a major role in combatting the Pandemic and being frontline warriors in Emergency Departments across India.

Dr Tej Prakash Sinha, Additional Professor, Department of Emergency Medicine, JPNATC, AIIMS, New Delhi was invited by the Ministry of Health & Family welfare, Govt of India, to participate in the live interactive panel discussion on the subject entitled “Tackling Future Public Health Emergencies”, which has aired on DoorDarshan (DD) News on 11th March 2023 (Saturday) from 7:00 pm- 8:00 pm BHARAT TIME.
