Department of Emergency Medicine SDUMC, Kolar organised an web based program on wellness for Medical professionals on eve of Doctor’s Day in partnership with The Emergency Medicine Association of India (EMA) and Codeblu Holistic Wellness Solutions.
Approximately, one in three healthcare professionals is experiencing burnout at any given time. Burnout is a work-related stress syndrome resulting from chronic exposure to job stress. This may not only interfere with own wellbeing but also with the quality of delivered care. This may have significant negative personal such as substance abuse, broken relationships and even suicide, but also important professional consequences such as lower patient satisfaction, impaired quality of care, even up to medical errors, potentially ending up in malpractice suits with substantial costs for caregivers and hospitals.
The online event was well received, because of the unique theme chosen by the organising team.
Drs Prakruthi Gagha Walla, Murtuza Ghiya, & Paul Peter studded this event with their ideas and thoughts which had a clear focus on Wellness !

In the year 1984, a group of dedicated and like-minded visionaries headed by Shri. R.L. Jalappa, a champion of the Cooperative movement in the state of Karnataka established the Sri Devaraj Urs Educational Trust for Backward Classes with the focus on provisioning of Medical Education and Social Services.
