The Emergency Medicine Association of Pondicherry and Tamil N?du held its ‘First Annual State Level Conference – EM RENDEZVOUS 2022’ on September 9th and 10th hosted by Indira Gandhi Medical College and Research Institute, Pondicherry.
EM TAMILNADU & PUDUCHERRY, a Conclave of the brightest minds, was held in Puducherry under the patronage of Emergency Medicine Association (EMA), Academic College of Emergency Experts of India (ACEE), and INDUSEM.
It was organized under the leadership of Dr. Surendar R, Assistant Professor, Emergency Medicine, IGMC&RI
The sessions brought together the top healthcare professionals, physicians, and doctors from across the nation to focus on the most important topics in emergency medicine, point of care ultrasound, and emergency cardiology.
This program covered a wide myriad of disciplines, from comprehending fundamental resuscitation science to cutting-edge procedures and the latest developments in the field. We hope that it assisted health care professionals in providing better patient care at the bedside and enhancing clinical outcomes.
This conclave was conducted in two streams – Basic Stream, for undergraduates, Interns and paramedics and Advanced stream, for post-graduates and consultants.
In the same way, the workshop was also conducted in three streams. The topics and workshops were designed in such a way that it covered all the fields of emergency medicine. The conference was attended by around 300 participants from all over the country. Both the conference and workshops were well received by all the participants.
Some of the highlights of the conference were Pre-Hospital Air Medical Transport Medicine, Artificial Intelligence Integrated Ventilation, Wilderness Medicine, and Disaster Medicine.
The workshop on second day was outstanding and a milestone in the history of Emergency Medicine. A live demonstration of ED Thoracotomy was conducted and was led by top leading cardiothoracic and vascular surgeons from JIPMER, Puducherry.
An ECMO demonstration was also held. The day was concluded with e-poster presentation with more than 30 participants participating in the event.
EM Rendezvous was inaugurated at the hands of Thiru. N. Rangasamy Honourable Chief Minister of Puducherry cum Chairman of IGMC& RI & Dr. M. Mathiventhan Honourable Minister for Tourism for the Government of Tamilnadu.
The Chief Patrons for the Conference were Dr. Udayshankar C, Dr. Ramchandra Bhat and Dr. Joseph Raajesh all leaders of IGMC&RI.
