INDUSEM’s Yunus Reports on South Asian Games at NEIGRIHMS

INDUSEM Leader Dr. Md. Yunus who is the Sub Dean & Additional Professor of NEIGRIHMS reported that South Asian Games held its TAEKWONDO Games Finals at the Institute. The South Asian Games were hosted by Guwahati & Shillong from 6th Feb to 15th Feb 2016. Honourable Prime Minister of India Shri. Narendra Modi inaugurated the games on 6th Feb 2016 at Guwahati.

The medical Team at NEIGHRIMS also provided the Medical & Dope Testing Service for conduction of Games.

INDUSEM Leader Dr. Yunus has been an active partner in progressing Academic Acute Care Services in Eastern Frontier of India. He is a sports enthusiast and also a Professional High Terrain Cyclist.

NEIGRIHMS put in immense Emergency Preparedness Efforts and Dr. Yunus credits the same to Strong Leadership and TEAMWORK which is the essence of success in Mass Gathering Events.

About the South Asian Games

“The South Asian Games, a multi-sport event, is the regional Games of the Olympic Council of Asia. Since it was first hosted by Kathmandu, Nepal in the year 1984, except for few occasions the event is taking place every alternate year. This mega multi-national sports event is held among the athletes of the South Asian countries in various locations across the region. The event is presently joined by the eight South Asian countries namely Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

About SHILLONG

“Shillong is the capital and hill station of Meghalaya, also known as “The Abode of Clouds”, one of the smallest states in India. It is said that the rolling hills around the town reminded the European settlers of Scotland. Hence, they would also refer to it as the “Scotland of the East”.
